Winnaars Mingler Scholarship 2023
De avond wordt geopend door kunstenaar/ontwerper Pei-Ying Lin en wetenschapper Yi-Ching Huang, winnaars van de Mingler Scholarship 2023. Lin en Huang onderzoeken hoe zij AI-modellen kunnen vatten in een modern bestiarium, waarin zij de modellen benaderen als onbekende organismes. Hiervan maken zij een interactieve ‘veldgids’ die in maart 2024 verschijnt.

De avond bevat drie rondes slow dating van ieder twintig minuten: kunstenaars en wetenschappers ontdekken samen welke raakvlakken er zijn of welke fascinatie voor vraagstukken ze delen. Wat spreekt jou aan en of doet verlangen naar meer informatie of een samenwerking?
Elk stel krijgt de kans om ter plekke een concept voor een samenwerking uit te werken. Het meest innovatieve en fantasierijke idee ontvangt een speciale beloning.

Mingler Live vindt één keer per jaar plaats met als doel wetenschappers en kunstenaars met elkaar in contact te brengen en geïnspireerd te raken door elkaars onderzoek en ervaringen.

2023 Mingler Scholarship Winners
The evening will be opened by artist/designer Pei-Ying Lin and scientist Yi-Ching Huang, winners of the Mingler Scholarship 2023. Lin and Huang investigate how they can capture AI models in a modern bestiary, in which they approach the models as unknown organisms. They will turn this into an interactive 'field guide' that will be published in March 2024.
Meet your match
The evening includes three rounds of slow dating of twenty minutes each: artists and scientists discover together what common ground there is or what fascination for issues they share. What appeals to you and/or makes you want more information or collaboration?
Each couple is given the opportunity to develop a concept for a collaboration on the spot. The most innovative and imaginative idea will receive a special reward.
